Pasta Primavera with Chicken recipes

### The Ingredients

| Component | Ingredients |

| --- | --- |

| **Protein** | 2 chicken breasts (sliced into thin strips or 1-inch cubes) |

| **Pasta** | 300g Penne, Fusilli, or Farfalle (bow-ties) |

| **The "Spring"** | 1 bunch asparagus, 1 zucchini (julienned), 1 cup frozen peas, 1 red bell pepper (sliced) |

| **Aromatics** | 3 cloves garlic (minced), 1 small shallot (finely diced) |

| **The Sauce** | 1/2 cup chicken broth, 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional), 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese |

| **Finishing** | Fresh lemon zest, juice of half a lemon, fresh basil, and parsley |

---

### Instructions

1. **The Pasta:** Boil a large pot of salted water. Cook your pasta until *al dente*. **Important:** Save 1 cup of the starchy pasta water before draining.

2. **The Chicken:** Season chicken with salt, pepper, and a pinch of dried oregano. In a large skillet with olive oil, sear the chicken over medium-high heat until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

3. **The Veggie Sauté:** In the same pan, add a bit more oil. Toss in the asparagus, peppers, and zucchini. Sauté for 3–4 minutes—you want them crisp-tender and bright, not mushy. Add the garlic, shallots, and peas for the last 60 seconds.

4. **The Emulsion:** Pour in the chicken broth and lemon juice, scraping up the flavorful browned bits from the chicken. If you want it "silky," stir in the heavy cream and half the Parmesan.

5. **The Toss:** Add the pasta and chicken back into the pan. Toss vigorously. If it looks dry, splash in some of that reserved pasta water. The starch will help the sauce cling to the noodles.

6. **The Garnish:** Remove from heat. Fold in the fresh herbs, lemon zest, and the rest of the Parmesan.

### Plating for "Art Style"

To make this look like a 5-star dish rather than a home stir-fry:

* **Twirl & Stack:** If using long pasta, use a carving fork to create a "nest" in the center of the bowl.

* **Color Blocking:** Place the brightest veggies (the red peppers and green asparagus tips) on top rather than letting them get buried.

* **The "Snow" Effect:** Microplane the Parmesan over the dish from a height for a delicate, snowy finish.

* **Negative Space:** Use a wide, shallow white bowl and keep the edges  clean
