🛒 Ingredients

For the baked eggs:

• 4 hard-boiled eggs

• 150g diced ham

• 100g grated cheese

For the béchamel sauce:

• 40g butter

• 40g flour

• 500ml milk

• Salt and pepper

• A pinch of nutmeg

👩‍🍳 Preparation

1️⃣ Prepare the eggs

Cook the eggs in a saucepan of boiling water for about 10 minutes.


Let them cool, then peel them carefully.


Cut the eggs into pieces or quarters, as you prefer.


2️⃣ Prepare the béchamel sauce

In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.

Add the flour and stir for 1 minute to obtain a smooth roux.

Gradually pour in the milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.

Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.

Let it thicken for a few minutes until you have a creamy sauce.


3️⃣ Assemble the ramekins

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

Distribute the egg pieces and diced ham among individual ramekins.

Pour the béchamel sauce generously over them.

Then add a generous layer of grated cheese.


4️⃣ Gratin

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly.

For an even crispier crust, turn on the broiler for the last 2 minutes 🔥
