Tres Leches (Milk Cake)

Ingredients

For the cake • All-purpose flour – 1½ cups

• Baking powder – 1 tsp

• Unsalted butter – ½ cup

• White sugar – 1 cup

• Eggs – 5

• Vanilla extract – ½ tsp

For the milk soak • Whole milk – 2 cups

• Sweetened condensed milk – 1 can (14 oz)

• Evaporated milk – 1 can (12 fl oz)

For topping • Heavy whipping cream – 1½ cups

• White sugar – 1 cup

• Vanilla extract – 1 tsp

• Fresh strawberries – sliced

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch pan.

2. Mix flour and baking powder.

3. Beat butter and sugar until fluffy.

4. Add eggs one by one, then vanilla.

5. Add dry ingredients and mix into a smooth batter.

6. Pour into pan and bake ~30 minutes.

7. Cool completely, then poke holes.

8. Mix all three milks and pour over cake.

9. Whip cream, sugar, and vanilla until fluffy.

10. Spread on cake and top with strawberries.

11. Chill 2–3 hours before serving.
